Men's Soccer Drops Opener

BLOOMSBURG -- The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team dropped its season opener to California, Pa by a score of 1-0 on Saturday at Sports Stadium.
The team's played a scoreless first half with Huskies' goalie Jon Keller (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) coming up with five saves. In the second half the teams, battling 90 degree temperatures, also came up short on several scoring opportunities before Cal's Michael Luecke banged home a goal at the 64 minute mark.
The Huskies best second half scoring opportunity came with just under 24 minutes to play when Christian Rota (Langhorne/Neshaminy) took a cross pass, but had his shot just miss wide left.
Bloomsburg falls to 0-1, 0-1 in the PSAC, while Cal goes to 1-0, 1-0 in the PSAC.
